This module builds a portfolio of skills which are transferable across your degree and beyond whilst introducing you to the Department of Psychology at Bradford, including the academic staff and their research. In the skills based elements of this module you will be introduced to practical approaches and theories relevant to the psychology of learning. The module develops skills which are relevant to studying psychology and to employability such as developing a CV, team working, critically evaluating theories and debating topics in group settings. You will learn how to assess and reflect upon your own approaches to learning, about how to avoid plagiarism and the importance of referencing. Personal development planning will allow you to continuously reflect and record your achievements. Interwoven with these key elements will be an introduction to the Psychology team and their research areas and interests. This will allow you to become more informed about the Bradford experience and what makes Psychology at Bradford unique.
