Projects

Our International Opportunities Team are responsible for the delivery of a number of projects, schemes and research opportunities.

Turing Scheme

This project is the UK Government Mobility Scheme and the most common funding source for our students. We have secured grants for outbound placements with over 400 available for 2024/25.

The Turing Scheme offers mobilities from 4 weeks to 1 year and can be used to travel to any country around the globe (subject to placement availability).

MITACs – Research Internships in Canada

MITACs supports undergraduates to undertake 12-week internships in research projects hosted by a Canadian university. The project is well funded and highly prestigious.

The University of Bradford has two students participating in the MITACs, applications open yearly.

Northern Consortium Project

This project aims to allow students who would otherwise find it difficult to take part in an International Opportunity access the same benefits.

Students have to be from a certain background, usually universal credit claimants, those with caring responsibilities or care leavers. We also target students from subjects with historically low uptake of opportunities, like Social Work.

Placements through the Northern Consortium project are two weeks, rather than the usual four. 25 Grants are available in 2024/25.
