Social workers and children’s practitioners can support people by promoting their rights, challenging inequality, protecting people from abuse, and helping people to empower themselves.

We work alongside people during the most difficult points of their lives. You may support people at the end of their lives; explain to a six-year-old that s/he will be safe living with another family; support someone with poor mental health; a homeless young person; a pregnant woman with a learning disability who is fearful she will lose her baby.

Human Rights and Social Justice are at the heart of our programmes. If you would like to make a difference to people’s lives, a degree in Social Work may be for you.
