Tell us about yourself
"Originally from the UK, I have spent the last six years living in Dubai with my wife and two daughters.
"Living in Dubai you are surrounded by people who are constantly challenging themselves to do bigger and better things.
"I'm responsible for IT and business processes across our group. I enjoy delivering technology solutions that address business problems, and I'm constantly looking for new ways to optimise and digitise the business.
"I particularly enjoy working with people who challenge the status quo and constantly ask why we do what we do."
What did you like most about the Executive MBA?
"One big advantage of the Executive MBA is the practical, as well as academic knowledge of the lecturers.
"They were able to clearly articulate where theoretical models would, and importantly would not work in a business context."
My degree has significantly broadened my knowledge across the non-IT areas of business. I now have a much deeper understanding of the business accounting and corporate finance that help construct commercially viable strategies.
What advice would you give to current and future students?
"Think about where you want to take your career, and be open-minded. The Executive MBA will challenge your current perceptions and may present you with new career options that you didn't think would have been possible.
"Change is constant and must be embraced, especially in the technology industry. However, life has to be fun. Enjoy today while looking to the future."
To be an IT leader these days requires a good understanding of many business practices, and the Executive MBA delivers on that.
