Joining our nursery

We encourage all prospective parents and carers to book a viewing of the Nursery, where you can get a feel for the space and ask any questions you may have.

To secure your place, we ask for a deposit based on a weeks’ worth of fees, following this we will book settling in visits and a start date.

All children are allocated a key person, who will work closely with yourselves as parents and carers to ensure all information is communicated during the settling-in period.

We have a full enrolment pack which must be completed during your child’s first visit or before, this includes an application form, an all about me document, and a parent/carer declaration.

Enrolment

Step 1 – Fill out our enquiry form

Step 2 – Visit the Nursery

We encourage all our families to look around the Nursery setting in person to see what we offer and meet the staff team. This also provides you with an opportunity to ask any questions and to see the Nursery in action. If you cannot visit in person, we have a virtual tour that allows you to see the facility. We can check availability at this time if you would like to secure a place.

Step 3 – Initial Registration

Some initial details are required if you would like to secure a place for your child at our Nursery. At this time, we will discuss with you what days are available and book any settling-in visits based on your request. We will also work out your deposit at this stage as we move onto step 3 of enrolment.

Step 4 – Deposit

To secure your child’s place, we require a non-refundable deposit equivalent to a 1-weeks’ fee. This is deducted from your first monthly invoice.  Once your deposit is paid, we can then move on to step 4 of enrolment. Spaces are only held for a maximum of 24-hours, subject to your deposit being paid. Please note the deposit scheme does not apply to parents/carers only accessing fully funded hours.

Step 5 – Confirmation email

Once you have paid your deposit, please ensure you inform the office so we can check with our finance department. We will then send out a confirmation email to confirm your child’s place is secure and re-confirm settling in visits, as per the initial registration. Our places are in high demand, until you have received a confirmation email from us your child’s place is not secured.

Step 6 - Attend Settling-In Visits & Complete the New Starter Pack

Please ensure your child attends all of their settling-in visits, more information on these is set out below. You must complete all administrative documents prior to/or during your child’s first settling in session, your child is not able to be left at the Nursery until we have checked that all the paperwork has been completed.

Settling-in

Starting nursery is a big step and we want to make sure that our children feel as comfortable and confident as possible. Therefore, it is important to have settling-in sessions to enable your child to build positive relationships with their key person, peers, and the wider staff team.

Everyone reacts differently to change and we want to reassure you as parents and carers that we understand how difficult settling-in can be. Your child’s key person will ensure that your child is supported throughout their visits.

You can ring the Nursery at any time for reassurance and can also request a call back from your child’s key person during your child’s visits.

Settling-in visits

All children starting with us have a minimum of 3 settling-in sessions. An example of this is below, but some children require more sessions to make them feel comfortable, so your visit plan will be based on individual needs.

  • 1st - 1-hour visit, parent/carer to stay with their child
  • 2nd - 2-hour visit, parent/carer offered to stay for the first ½ hour if they wish
  • 3rd - 3-hour visit, child to stay for lunch or snack tea

During the first visit, your child’s key person will discuss your child’s specific individual requirements, current development levels, and areas of interest.

Home visits

We offer a home visit from a member of the management team and your child’s key person. Having nursery staff visit your home environment helps to establish good relationships with each child and their family.

This allows a smoother transition as the children feel reassured by seeing familiar faces when they start nursery.
