Professor Declan McKeefry
Professor of Visual Neuroscience
Expertise: Visual Neuroscience, colour perception, colour vision deficiencies (colour blindness)
Professor McKeefry’s research interests lie, primarily, in colour perception, but he is also interested in motion and speed perception as well as in the mechanisms of visual short term memory. He applies a variety of methodologies to studying the different aspects of visual perception, including psychophysics, electrophysiology, brain imaging and transcranial magnetic stimulation.
His research has been supported by the Wellcome Trust, the Royal Society, the College of Optometrists and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC).
Professor McKeefry is currently on the steering committee of the Yorkshire Vision Network.
