Dr Catherine Quinn

Dr Quinn has been working in the dementia field for more than 15 years. Her research focuses on improving the quality of life of those affected by dementia and the factors that affect their quality of life, as well as the experiences of carers.
She is a Co-Investigator on a large-scale cohort study (the IDEAL programme) that seeks to better understand the factors linked to living well with dementia and how to provide more effective support.
She has been involved in major research studies concerning improving care for people with advanced dementia, a pilot trial of a self-management intervention for people with early-stage dementia and a five-year study funded by NIHR/ESRC looking at the factors that influence the ability to live well, both in people with dementia and carers.
Dr Quinn's work has also influenced the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friendly Communities program.
