Cutting edge science research from Bradford will form part of delegation to India and Sri Lanka 

Members of the university's executive board - including Vice Chancellor Professor Shirley Congdon and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Chris Gaffney - will visit Colombo, Sri Lanka and Delhi, India, as well as other locations, to develop and cement partnerships with  higher education institutions, colleges, schools and businesses. 

They will be showcasing world-leading research into things like cancer therapeutics and space satellite AI.

Professor Congdon said: “The University of Bradford has a great deal to offer international students thinking of studying in the UK. We are at the cutting edge of research for subjects like AI, cancer research, and archaeology, our multi award-winning School of Management is one of the best in the world, we have just launched the Bradford-Renduchintala Centre for Space AI, and we have new courses in architecture. 

“We already have close ties to both India and Sri Lanka and now we want to deepen those bonds and let the world know how much Bradford has to offer.” 

The University’s internationally renowned research is undertaken within three broad themes: Health and Care, The Engineered Environment and Sustainable Societies.

The University recently launched its MSc Engineering Management, an BSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence, and two new architecture courses: BSc Architectural Technology and BEng Architectural Engineering  (with placement). Its MSc in Satellite Systems Engineering offers £10,000 scholarships for eligible students. 

On March 6, TV presenter, broadcaster and writer, Anita Rani, whose parents were born in India, will be installed as new Chancellor of the university. 

India recently overtook China as the number one source market for students coming to the UK. Of the 679,000 international students we have in the UK, 126,000 (18.5%) are from India. The delegation will take place from March 5 to 17.
