More about the University of Bradford
Based in Yorkshire, the University of Bradford is the destination of choice for hundreds of students from India and Sri Lanka, thanks to its world-leading courses in areas such as cancer therapeutics, health care, business and management, financial technology, applied artificial intelligence, satellite systems and space artificial intelligence.
The University was also recently commended by the Office for Students for its approach to welcoming international students.
It was ranked #1 in the world for its Careers and Employability Service and for how it welcomes students from abroad by the International Student Barometer. Bradford as a city was also recently named most affordable university city in the UK by Comparethemarket.com
Its School of Management, which this year celebrates its 60th anniversary is one of the best in the world and has triple accreditation (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB). In 2021, the School of Management was also named Business School of the Year by the Times Higher Education supplement.
The University of Bradford Union of Students: Kick Start programme was also praised for its fast-track introduction to university life for international students via a wide range of pre/post-arrival events and support services.
Professor Gaffney said: “Forging links with places like India and Sri Lanka is essential in terms of promoting equality, diversity and inclusion - students who choose Bradford can be assured a warm welcome, and continued support throughout their studies.
“The programmes we offer here at Bradford reflect the changing world, with courses in applied AI, logistics and supply chains and architecture. In many of these areas, we are world leaders. We’re one of the few universities planning to launch satellites into space.
“In addition to all of that, students who choose Bradford get to live in one of the most geographically stunning areas of the UK, with the Pennines Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors just a stone’s throw away, and all without the high cost of living in a big city like London.”
The University recently launched its MSc Engineering Management, an BSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence, and two new architecture courses: BSc Architectural Technology and BEng Architectural Engineering (with placement). Its MSc in Satellite Systems Engineering offers £10,000 scholarships for eligible students.
On March 6, TV presenter, broadcaster and writer, Anita Rani, whose parents were born in India, will be installed as new Chancellor of the university.
India recently overtook China as the number one source market for students coming to the UK. Of the 679,000 international students we have in the UK, 126,000 (18.5%) are from India. The delegation will take place from March 5 to 17.
