Horizon Europe is the EU’s key research and innovation funding programme running from 2021 – 2027, with a budget of EUR 95.5 billion. Researchers will now have access to the world’s largest research collaboration programme, enabling significant opportunities for developing new collaboration and enhancing existing networks and partnerships.

As of Thursday 7 September 2023, the UK is a Fully Associated Member of the Horizon Europe programme, permitting applications from Bradford as both a lead or partner for grant funding.

Liam Sutton, Associate Director in Research and Innovation said: "This positive development means that researchers at the University of Bradford can re-engage in the world's largest research and innovation collaboration programme, and benefit from its many funding and networking opportunities.

"Our University has a strong reputation for research excellence, with 73 per cent of its research rated internationally excellent or world-leading in the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF). Horizon Europe is an essential vehicle for Bradford researchers to make a difference in tackling the many challenges facing us today, in collaboration with leaders in Europe and across the world."
