University of Bradford Professor honoured as'High Chief'
Professor Uduak Archibong, MBE, Director of the Centre for Inclusion and Diversity at the University of Bradford, has been honoured with the title of 'Obonganwan Ifiok Nsit Ubium' by the Traditional Institution in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area in the Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.
The title 'Obonganwan Ifiok Nsit Ubium ' means the 'High Chief of Knowledge and Wisdom of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area'.
The Award was given by the Traditional Rulers Council in recognition of her academic achievements and contributions in Health, Higher Education, and Inclusion and Diversity.
She said: “I am extremely honoured and proud to be recognised for this work that I believe is vital for our communities. I’m also thankful to the University for giving me the platform to engage in and promote these initiatives that have such international impact.”
Professor Archibong was also recognised for her programme on Dementia and Stigma in Nigeria, which has been well received by people of all generations.
Professor Archibong was honoured with a similar title by another Traditional Institution in Nigeria in December 2017.
