National Strategy for the Implementation of Digital Pathology

Dr Betmouni, Director of Clinical Pathology and Deputy Director of DHEZ Academic, has called for a national strategy for the implementation of digital pathology. Her BMJ opinion piece highlights the challenges faced by diagnostic services in the NHS, and proposes a less timid more team-based approach to “future-proofing” diagnostic histopathology services. She proposes that we re-imagine diagnostic services and look at how to integrate diagnostic platforms: a multi-disciplinary process bringing together the expertise of pathologists, clinicians, industry and universities.
