Britain after Brexit
What will Britain and the world look like after Brexit?
That will be the theme of the third annual Harold Wilson Lecture at the University of Bradford next month.
Britain and the world after Brexit will see Hilary Benn MP deliver his perspective on the biggest change in the UK's international relationships since the end of the Second World War. What will this mean for our role and influence in a world that faces the great challenges of conflict, climate change and sustainable economic development?
The lecture series began in 2016, as part of the University's 50th Anniversary, in honour of its first Chancellor, the Prime Minister, Lord Harold Wilson of Rievaulx. Lord Wilson was Chancellor from 1966 until 1985.
Hilary Benn is the Labour Member of Parliament for Leeds Central. Previously, he served as International Development Secretary, as a Minister in the Home Office, as Secretary of State at the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, as the Shadow Leader of the House of Commons, the Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government and the Shadow Foreign Secretary. He was elected Chair of the Exiting the European Union Select Committee in October 2016.
The lecture takes place on Thursday 8 November 2018 from 6pm in the Norcroft Centre at the University’s city campus. To register for a free place visit https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/britain-and-the-world-after-brexit-2018-harold-wilson-lecture-series-tickets-48375754183
