Universities in the crosshairs: why they are under attack, and what they should do about it
This is the title of a lecture to be given by be Sir Richard Lambert, journalist and business executive, at the University of Bradford.
Sir Richard will discuss how England is a genuine world leader in higher education, but its position is under threat from policy errors and political misjudgements at home, and rising competition abroad.
Far from being cherished, universities have been subject to all kinds of attacks in recent months. Richard will explore why this is and what should happen now.
It is the latest in the annual lecture series, hosted by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bradford, Professor Brian Cantor, which brings distinguished speakers who are experts in their fields to Bradford. Join Sir Richard Lambert for what will be a thought provoking lecture.
Sir Richard served as Director-General of the CBI, Chancellor of the University of Warwick and editor of the Financial Times.
The lecture takes place at the Norcroft Centre, University of Bradford (Main Campus) on Wed 4 Oct 2017.
Registration and refreshments will open at 17.15, and the lecture will run from 18.00-19.15.
Through public events the University of Bradford seeks to provide a forum for academics, students, experts in their fields and the public to discuss areas of work of the University and their relation to society.
