Bradford leadership programme shortlisted for leading higher education awards
The University of Bradford has been shortlisted for a prestigious Times Higher Education Award for its leadership development programme.
The programme, known as Bradford: Leader, was created in 2014 and supports the development of inclusive and adaptive leadership throughout the organisation at all levels.
Joanne Marshall, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, explains: “Bradford: Leader provides a supportive and collaborative environment to address key leadership challenges faced by the University. After identifying that leadership was an area for improvement, we created the programme to increase confidence, improve networking and collaboration and help staff see how they could contribute to the strategy to achieve success.
“I am delighted that Bradford: Leader has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Contribution to Leadership Development category, this is testament to the vision and dedication of the team and to all those that have been involved in the project to date.”
The underpinning philosophy of the approach is collective leadership – Me;We;Us.This approach is for the benefit and growth of the individual, the collective and the University. It addresses the multitude of complex issues facing higher education at this time individually, locally, systemically and globally.
The Bradford: Leader program has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Contribution to Leadership Development category of the Times Higher Education Awards 2017. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on Thursday 30 November.
