World-leading scientist honoured at University of Bradford's first China graduation ceremony
World-leading scientist and head of one of China's most prestigious research organisation Professor Bai Chunli will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Bradford as it hosts its first ever graduation ceremony in Beijing.
The ceremony, on Sunday 17 April 2016 at the Ritz Carlton in China’s capital city, marks the first time the University has held a graduation in China. The ceremony will be preceded by an alumni event. Bradford has 5,000 alumni from China, among 120,000 University of Bradford alumni worldwide.
The ceremony will be a highlight of the University’s 50th anniversary celebrations and will follow the graduation order of proceedings familiar at the University's graduation ceremonies at its Bradford city campus.
Professor Bai is the President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also the President of the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries. He is one of the pioneers in scanning probe microscopy, nanoscience and nanotechnology in China both as a scientist and a policy-maker.

The graduation ceremony is part of a wider delegation visit by the University to China to develop and strengthen partnerships with Sino-British College, University of Science and Technology Shanghai, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Beijing Film Academy.
