Bradford plays host to prestigious archaeology conference

A celebratory meeting and conference is being held to mark the 30th anniversary of the WARP, a project exploring wetland archaeology. The meeting will combine plenary talks from founding members of WARP, invited guest speakers, and presentations & posters in order to celebrate the past achievements, understand contemporary research, and highlight future potential.

Highlights include a presentation on the famous wetland site of Must Farm in the Fenland (UK), the reconstruction of a 2000-year old basketby Elder 1st: Mr. Ed Carriere, Suquamish Elder and Master Basketmaker (Washington State, USA).

and an overview of the last 30 years of WARP by founding member Professor Bryony Coles, along with over 50 presentations from world renowned archaeologists.

The event takes place 28 June – 2 July and includes visits to local attractions in the area.
