Bradford hosts prestigious post-18 exhibition for the first time
The University of Bradford will for the first time host the West and North Yorkshire UCAS Exhibition, one of the most important events helping prospective students to choose a university and other post-18 options.
The takes place at the University’s city centre campus off Great Horton Road on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 June 2016.
Universities, higher education colleges, employers, gap year companies and other organisations from across the country will be highlighting a range of post-18 opportunities. There will be 200 exhibitors welcoming over 8000 visitors over the two days.
A full programme of seminars and workshops on all subject areas will give visitors the chance to ask questions and get advice on everything from personal statements to student finance.
In addition there will be a Student Life Zone where visitors can chat to current students, begin a tour of the University campus and experience university life away from academic work, including student sports and societies. There will also be an outside festival food zone, interactive summer games area and music from University of Bradford’s radio station RamAir.
The event is one of the most important in the university application calendar and is a major coup for Bradford.
University of Bradford Director of External Affairs, Mark Garratt, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this prestigious event and welcoming both visitors and exhibitors to our campus and city. It’s particularly appropriate that in our 50th anniversary year we should be celebrating yet another milestone by hosting the UCAS Exhibition for the first time. It’s a major boost both to the University and the rapidly developing city of Bradford.”
