Eze's story

Eze Emelogu's expertise spans conflict resolution, governance, development policy, and humanitarian intervention. With a profound commitment to advancing peace, democracy, and sustainable development, his work integrates cross-cutting areas such as youth engagement in politics, human rights advocacy, social assistance, economic development, and climate resilience. Eze’s extensive experience navigating multi-sector environments, from state institutions to international and multilateral organizations, underscores his adeptness in building collaborative solutions to complex global challenges.

In his current role at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution in Abuja, where he holds the title of Research Fellow, Eze executes policy-driven research on the socio-political, legal, and developmental dynamics that contribute to conflict, providing critical insights for peacebuilding efforts. He also plays a pivotal role in Nigeria’s National Conflict Early Warning and Response System (NCEWERS), supporting the development and operationalisation of the nation’s early warning infrastructure aimed at preventing violence and mitigating conflict.

In another capacity, he served as Programme Officer for the Peace Action for Rapid and Transformative Nigerian Early Response (PARTNER) initiative, a $7.8 million cooperative agreement with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Eze is at the forefront of efforts to enhance Nigeria’s Early Warning Early Response (EWER) architecture. Through this 60-month project, he facilitated collaboration among Nigerian communities, government entities, security actors, and civil society to increase the effectiveness, local ownership, and sustainability of violence prevention mechanisms.

Additionally, Eze serves as a Project Consultant on the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACRESal) initiative, a World Bank-funded program addressing the dual challenges of land degradation and climate change in Northern Nigeria. 

Eze’s breadth of experience also includes his role as Programme Liaison Assistant of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution to the United Nations Nigeria Office, where he and a larger team were responsible for coordinating partnerships and events, such as Mandela Day and The International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief. 

He draws experience from diverse fields and engagements to advance his vision of creating sustainable, inclusive societies. His professional trajectory reflects his passion for development and an unrelenting drive to effect transformative change at the local, national and global levels.
