Smart IoT technology to transform healthcare service delivery in Indonesia

Dr Jiachen Hou worked as a co-investigator on the British Council Sponsored project titled BLESS U, Bandar Lampung Enhanced Smart-health Services with Smart Ubiquity, between 2017-2019. The aim of the project was to define a semantic smart service (3S) framework to model semantically the patient pathways and clinical processes including the delivery of associated information and the interactions between clinic, hospital and pharmacist.
To disseminate the BLESS U activities and outcomes, the team organised a range of activities, including:
(a) Smart Clinic Event on 37th March 2017 in Bradford
(b) Creative and Smart Healthcare of the Future on 31st May-1st June 2017 in London
(c) Internet of Things (IoT)-based Healthcare Services conference on 7th November 2017 in Indonesia
Following on from this research work, Jiachen is now working with international partners from Indonesia, China and Zambia on research which looks at:

- Impact of COVID-19 on SMEs
- Impact of COVID-19 on healthcare
