Prehistoric Society Archive
Archive reference: PRE
The Prehistoric Society aims to promote the study of our prehistoric past, from the "earliest human origins to the emergence of written records". Find out more about its history on the Society history webpage. We explored the Society's East Anglian origins in this article in our 100 Objects exhibition: Man - a million years old?
The Society's Archive came to Special Collections in 2010. An extensive and richly detailed collection, it includes minute books, Council papers, correspondence, photographs and material about Society conferences and field trips. Note that some of the earlier documents are very fragile.
We have created a working catalogue but it is not yet ready to share online. Please contact Special Collections staff for further assistance.
