Copying and using maps
Ordnance Survey maps
OS maps are protected by Crown Copyright for 50 years after their publication. However, the University of Bradford has taken out an OS Educational copyright licence. This licence permits the copying and use of Ordnance Survey mapping for educational, research or teaching purposes of the University.
You may:
- copy maps (NB! digitising or scanning of maps is not permitted under this license)
- use digital maps.
- show up to ten 200 cm² bitmap images on our University web site.
- use OS mapping as a location map in a prospectus or brochure.
Digital versions of old OS maps are copyright to Landmark.
Limitations on copying and reuse apply and every copy must carry an acknowledgement in a specified format. For information on limitations and other aspects of the OS Educational license, please get in touch by email via [email protected].
