All of our courses are specifically designed with our International Advisory Board to meet current sector needs. At Bradford you can study world-class degrees from Undergraduate LLB level, at Postgraduate LLM level on campus or by Distance Learning through to research degrees. Our programmes are tailored to prepare you for an ever-evolving and increasingly digital and international legal world, in which both theoretical and practical skills are highly necessary.

LLB
Our LLB (Hons) degrees gives you the legal tools for a career as a solicitor or barrister, as well as equipping you for employment in other areas if you choose not to go on to a professional qualification in law.
The LLB programme is taught by a mix of academic experts and practitioner lawyers, who put real-world clinical legal experience at the heart of the programme. You’ll develop a critical grasp of the law and its political, social and economic contexts.
The graduate landscape is more competitive than ever today, so we have a suite of courses for you to choose from. Our specialist LLBs allow you to study for a qualifying law degree as well as follow your particular interest in law, helping you to stand out from the crowd.
LLM
Our Master of Laws (LLM) programmes give you an in-depth knowledge of the law. You can choose LLM programmes focused on International Legal Studies, International Commercial Law, International Banking and Financial Technology Law, International Corporate Law and Governance, Technology and Artificial Intelligence, International Human Rights and Development or Natural Resources and Environmental Law and Policy. With a range of optional modules available alongside the core curriculum, you’ll be able to tailor the programme to your areas of academic interest and your career aspirations.
You do not need to have studied law at an undergraduate level to apply for our LLM programmes. If you have not previously studied law, you will take a two-week Introduction to Law course before the start of the programme to ensure you are familiar with the basic legal institutions and sources of international and English law.
In addition to providing specialist legal knowledge, the LLM will equip you with abilities valued in any profession, such as research, analytical and communication skills. This means you’ll be equipped to explore a broad range of career opportunities once you graduate.
You get to spend a lot of time with lecturers here, there’s a lot more contact time, and any problems, any issues, the lecturers are more than happy to sort it out.

LLM Distance Learning
Our Distance Learning LLM mirrors that of our on-campus LLM programme and is taught by the same team of experts. You can choose to study with us from anywhere in the world and have full access to our academic expertise.
For individuals interested in pursuing a range of career options including careers in legal practice, business, industry and civil society, our Distance Learning LLM offers geographic flexibility coupled with expert support.
PhD
A Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) is internationally recognised as the most advanced qualification you can receive. Our PhD programme offers full-time and part-time research opportunities in a range of subject areas. We promote interdisciplinary research and we work together in themed research areas. As a postgraduate researcher, you will be an integral part of our research community. You will be supported on your journey by your supervisors, the programme office and the research centre you are affiliated with.
At the School of Law, you’ll conduct research under the guidance of our experienced and highly committed Faculty. You will have opportunities to take part in a range of research training pathways and engage in teaching-related activities and generate research impact in your chosen field. Upon completion of your PhD, you will have acquired the skills of an independent researcher and have the opportunity to pursue an exciting career in academia, international institutions, industry, government the legal profession, and consultancy.
So far, my research journey has been great. The University and the School of Law offer a great level of support. There are organised training sessions and workshops which provide specific and relevant information on how to approach your research and write up your thesis.
