The University will assess the Study and English Language qualifications to meet the 10 points at the time of making you an offer to study. Once you have an unconditional offer, we will proceed with our Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) checks. As part of this process, we will also check your Financial Evidence to ensure it meets the Home Office requirements for your application.
In order to help students to make a successful visa application, the Visa Support team will be carrying out extra checks before we can issue their CAS. This could mean a delay in getting your CAS so it is imperative that you start planning and preparing for your application now.
You can start applying for your visa within 6 months of your course start date. This can be found on your offer letter. Please note, however, that you can only travel to the UK one month before your course starts and CAS issuing for January intakes will begin no earlier than the September prior to your start date.
The Student visa application can be a difficult and complex process and we want to ensure that students have all the support they need to get their visa. The following information provides more details about the process, but if you have any further questions feel free to contact the Visa Support team.
