Support the Rani Scholarship
Starting from September 2024, the Rani Scholarship is a life changing opportunity for women, who ordinarily wouldn’t be able to access higher education, to study for an undergraduate degree at the University of Bradford.
The scholarship will support two home students and two international students annually for the duration of their studies. Home students will receive an annual £6,600 bursary and international students will receive an annual 50% tuition fee reduction. Recipients will also benefit from bespoke, wrap around support such as mentoring and placements, and be part of a community where they are supported, visible and belong.
The scholarship has been set up by our Chancellor, Anita Rani:
University isn’t just about acquiring knowledge; it’s about finding your own voice, cultivating your passions, and gaining the confidence to forge a new path. The Rani Scholarship will give women who have faced, or live with, significant challenges a chance to pursue their dreams.
Make a donation
If you share Anita’s passion to change the trajectory of a woman’s life, please consider donating to the Rani Scholarship and give a gift of an education to someone who wouldn’t be able to access higher education without your support.
You can donate online, or if you have any questions and would prefer a personal discussion about supporting the Rani Scholarship, please contact the Development Team by phone on +44 (0)1274 23 5864 or email [email protected].
Why we're launching the scholarship
The scholarship will support women facing the biggest challenges in coming to study at the University of Bradford including refugees and asylum seekers, care leavers, those with a disability, people from low higher education participation backgrounds, and those facing significant socio-economic disadvantage.
Creating the innovators and leaders of tomorrow, the Rani Scholarship will support women to study subjects where they are underrepresented and make up less than 25% of the student body on the degree programme. In 2024/25 these courses will primarily be in science and technology subjects including BSc Computer Science, BEng Mechanical Engineering, and BA Film and Television Production.

Help support us
The best way to support with this scholarship is to donate. But we'd love to hear from you if you have ideas on further promoting both the scholarship and more broadly, improving prospects for women.
