The UNIfy Community Day takes place on Saturday 27 April from 11am - 3pm.

Depending on the type of activity that each stand is running, there is a small chance that some activities may come to a finish before the end of the event. Where possible, please arrive early to avoid any disappointment!
Sustainability
Bradford Beekeepers
This stand is sure to create a buzz! Come and learn all about this unBEEliveable insect and why we can't live without them, told by the beekeepers tasked with keeping them happy and healthy.

Grow-Up Greener
Looking after our planet is now more important than ever. Come and hear about how the University is encouraging school children across the globe to come up with their own ideas for a greener future and add your ideas to the conversation.
Breathe Better Bradford
Come and learn about how the air we breathe affects our health and how our city is trying to combat this through initiatives like the clean air zone. You’ll also get to make your own air pollution catcher.

Space, Satellites and Sustainability
Find out about the University’s efforts in becoming a leader in making smaller and more affordable space satellites to help monitor and look after our planet, including conducting your own satellite experiments and watching demonstrations.
Health
All about eyes!
Come and ‘see’ why it’s important to keep having your eyes tested and learn about the different treatments that help to keep your eyes healthy. You’ll get to play vision games, be tricked by mind-blowing optical illusions, and see pieces of equipment used by the professionals.
Born in Bradford: Age of Wonder
Age of Wonder is one of the largest studies of young people in the world, currently being carried out in schools in Bradford. You will be able to take a closer look at the research process, some of their findings, and how they will be used to help the community, with interactive activities for you to get involved!
FUNMOVES
It’s time to show off your skills with FUNMOVES! Complete a series of movement-based activities developed as a test to easily measure the development of fundamental movement skills in primary-aged children.
Healthy Hearts and Arteries
Find out about how cardiovascular health research at the University is helping to keep your heart and blood vessels healthy. Experiment with interactive models of a heart and blood vessels, have fun with colouring sheets and flashcards, and measure blood pressure and blood flow.
Unique Fitness
Become a member of Unique Fitness! Come and hear about how you could make a difference to your health and fitness by joining the gym, sparring at the Boxing Academy, or making a splash in the pool (to name just a few).
ParOARmedics
Meet our passionate ParOARmedics graduates who are about to embark on ‘The 2024 World’s Toughest Row Atlantic Challenge,’ a 3,000-mile test of endurance and strength from Tenerife to Antigua. See if you’ve got what it takes to join them through a light-hearted rowing challenge.
Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit (PSBRU)
Following the fire disaster at the Bradford City football stadium in 1985, the University established a pioneering new unit to treat and research burn injuries. Find out about the world-leading work of the unit, try out the Bradford Sling, and plant your own Forget-Me-Nots to remember the victims of the disaster.
OrQA – Transplant Organ Quality Assessment
Experience first hand how AI is revolutionising the transplant system, saving lives and tens of millions of pounds. Compare traditional methods against this new technology, watching as AI predicts the outcome of an organs quality in real time!
Please note this stand will show images of real human organs, so it not suitable for those that are squeamish.

Find out how Sanctuary Awards inspire and support local entities to facilitate access and participation of asylum seekers and refugees in community services. Take our migration quiz and put your knowledge to the test!
Community Education Programmes
Learn about the University’s community education programmes for primary and secondary school students. Plus, learn how to programme Lego robots in our robot games area!
Bussing Out
An immersive installation that will take you back to Bradford in the 1970’s. Listen to real-life experiences of those that were ‘bussed out,’ an educational policy impacting South Asian, West Indian and African children who migrated to Britain in the 60’s or 70’s.

All you need is an idea to start a successful business. Come along to practice your pitching with a panel of experts from the Bradford-Renduchintala Enterprise Ecosystem and hear about how they can help you make it happen.
Create your own Comic Book
Join the National Science and Media Museum to make your very own comic book about science superheroes. You and your sidekick need to create a powerful machine that could save us all; the world needs you!
Social Justice Superheroes
We want to hear from you about your ability to make change: unlock your true potential and discover your superpowers! Using recycled materials, create your superhero logo, mask or outfit, ready to fight social injustice and change the world!
Stories from Valley Parade
Are you a Bradford City Fan? Come and tell us about your memories and stories about watching the mighty Bantams play, from the greatest goals to your favourite players and chants, to the people you come to the stadium with. Your stories will be brought to life during Bradford 2025.
Speed Skills Swap
Everyone has different skills and hobbies and spending time on them makes a difference to our health and wellbeing. This is your chance to spend 15 minutes learning a new skill to take away and share with others, from Origami to Printing to Cookie Decorating. Who knows, you might find your new favourite hobby!
Making a Difference Trail
There are so many people who make a difference to our city and lives. Family members, friends, teachers, health professionals to name a few. Come and add the name of a person who has made a positive impact to your life to our ‘making a difference trail’ and celebrate all the amazing people that make our city great.
Fun & Games
We'll have a host of family-friendly entertainment across the day, including FREE face painting, a drum-a-long workshop from The Plumber Drummer, and a guest appearance from Mother Nature to tell us how we can save the planet!
