Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies talks

Computer Science 16:00 - 16:45 Computer Science has three growth areas: Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Science and Cyber Security. Discover their key aspects and explore how they are helping to solve problems affecting humankind, including health, smart cities, and the environment. We will also introduce our new MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Engineering (Advanced) - Biomedical 16:00 - 16:30 Find out about the opportunities available to our students, including the modules that you can study as part of these programmes, the facilities that we have to support your studies and our links with industry.
Engineering (Advanced) - Chemical and Petroleum 16:35 - 17:05 Gain an overall view of our postgraduate programme, including our two different study routes, our entry requirements, the delivery team and their areas of research. We will also outline our course structure and talk about the activities of our Chem Eng society.
Satellite Systems Engineering 17:10 - 17:40 This unique programme covers the three pillars of space/satellite systems: communications, earth observations, and navigation. It also covers two keys to the future of satellite systems; artificial intelligence (AI) and distributed systems.

Filmmaking 17:45 - 18:15 Discover how to take your love of film to the next level. Our programme explores the production of advanced film products, including specialist modules in film industry practices, music video commissioning, and film history and context.
Engineering (Advanced) - Mechanical, Renewable and Management 17:45 - 18:30 Learn about our MSc Advanced Mechanical Engineering, MSc Renewable and Sustainable Energy and MSc Engineering Management programmes. We will discuss the modules you can study, the facilities you'll use to support your studies, and our industry links.

Pharmaceutical Technology and Medicines Control 16:00 - 16:30 Learn about this unique programme that combines the study of pharmaceutical technology, including pharmaceutical sciences, and medicines control. Explore the areas of study being undertaken by current students and opportunities to gain hands-on experience.
Physician Associate 16:35 - 17:05 The Physician Associate is an emerging healthcare profession. We will provide insight into the course, modules, teaching and assessment methods, as well as placement and employment opportunities.
Archaeology and Forensics 17:10 - 17:40 We have been awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education for our world-leading work in developing archaeological technology and techniques and its influence on practice, policy and society. Join our academics in this talk and explore our range of archaeology and forensic sciences courses in depth. 
Institute of Cancer Therapeutics 17:45 - 18:15 Our talk will provide a fascinating insight into cancer research activity, including the work of our students. We will cover everything you need to know about our courses and the opportunities available.
Chemistry: Analytical Sciences and Materials Chemistry 17:45 - 18:15 We will provide an in-depth breakdown of our MSc Analytical Sciences and MSc Materials Chemistry programmes, and discuss career opportunities available to our students.
Pharmacy (Foundations in Pharmacy Practice, Advanced Pharmacy Practice, and MSc Clinical Pharmacy and Healthcare Leadership) 18:20 - 18:50 Both our foundation programme, aimed at newly qualified pharmacists, and our advanced programme, aimed at more experienced pharmacists, offer part-time, blended learning. Both programmes will equip pharmacists with the knowledge, skills and behaviours for delivering safe and effective patient-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will also be able to find out about our new course, MSc Clinical Pharmacy and Healthcare Leadership.

Funded by the Office for Students (OfS), this programme is designed for applicants from all backgrounds, with no prior technical knowledge.
