Why did I join the Innovation and skills advisory board?
I am a proud Bradfordian who but for a brief period of University and post-University life in Newcastle, have spent their whole life living in the Bradford district.
I am passionate about the benefit that the Space sector can bring to all parts of our diverse community in terms of generating interest in STEAM, developing skills in our young people and being a catalyst for our economic prosperity.
Over the last year I have been part of a small team developing a regional Space cluster, Space Hub Yorkshire (SHY). The Renduchintala Centre is a key asset for our region and I want to ensure that it plays a leading role in the development of the SHY project and can benefit from other Space related developments in the region.
The Centre has a great opportunity to promote itself through the activity of SHY and I want to ensure that these strands are efficiently coordinated.
What can I offer to the Centre?
- Promotion to an international audience through my FCDO and DIT links and activity
- Ability to promote and foster the work of the Centre through the Space Hub Yorkshire initiative, particularly to industry and to the academic community
- Help to develop how the Centre benefits other sectors such as health and transport and leads on supporting these developments
- As an accountant and commercial advisor I can provide commercial advice to help grow the Centre and to capitalise on commercial opportunities
