About the University of Bradford Disability Service
The Disability Service is part of Student and Academic Services.
We can provide information, advice and guidance whether you are an applicant, current or international disabled student.
We can also provide help and advice if you are a member of staff supporting students.
What is a Disability?
Disability can mean different things to different people. By the term ‘disabled students’ we mean any student with:
- Specific Learning Difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia,
- Mental health difficulties,
- Autism,
- A long term health condition,
- A physical or sensory impairment.
Even if you don’t think of yourself as a disabled person you may be entitled to protection under the law (Equality Act 2010) and support from the University.
