Entry requirements

Candidates must hold a 2:1 honours degree or the overseas equivalent in a medical, health or social sciences subject.

Applicants with a 2:2 honours degree and a minimum of two years professional public health related experience may also be considered. 

A degree level professional qualification in an appropriate subject, normally with some experience in the broad field of public health will also be considered.

English language requirements

English language IELTS 6.5 with no subtest lower than 6.5.

If you do not meet the IELTS requirement, and you have a UKVI approved IELTS, you can take a University of Bradford pre-sessional English course. See the Language Centre for more details. Learning and assessment

Learning methods

The programme is delivered through lectures, facilitated seminars and online learning and resources to help prepare students for the formative assessments.

Assessment

You will learn using a range of different assessment techniques, which may include one or more of the following:

  • Written essay
  • A reflective Case study
  • Computer based Multiple Choice Question examination
  • Computer based open book examination
  • Seminar Presentation
  • Poster presentation
  • Written project report
  • Completion of a Dissertation
  • Research paper/executive summary

Study support

You will be allocated a personal tutor who is someone with whom you will be able to talk about any academic or personal concerns.

Programme leaders are available for any related matters, and advice is given regularly towards curriculum and progression.

Research

The programme has been developed by leading academics in the field of public health.

It draws on specialist knowledge from the Bradford Institute of Health Research and Bradford District Metropolitan Council Public Health department.
