Learning and assessment
Lectures will introduce you to the principles of clinical reasoning and evidence based practice in relation to spinal dysfunction. This will be followed by theory/practical sessions which will enable you to explore and apply theory to practice in relation to spinal dysfunction.
Each session will be concentrated on one anatomical region. The emphasis will be on the development of advanced practical and theoretical skills. You will have the opportunity to undertake formative practical examinations in the clinical setting and have the opportunity to receive both mentor and academic feedback.
Students will normally be working in musculoskeletal outpatients which will include weekly sessions with a mentor in order to facilitate the development of advanced clinical reasoning skills.
The assessment for the module is based on the integration of theory and practice in the assessment of a new patient and in the submission of an evidence based case study
