Learning and assessment
Three hours of introductory lectures will introduce you to the principles of clinical reasoning problem solving and evidence based practice in relation to upper limb dysfunction. This will be followed by theory/practical sessions which will enable you to explore and apply theory to practice in relation to upper limb function and dysfunction.
The emphasis will be on the development of advanced practical and theoretical skills. You will also have opportunities to debate current literature pertinent to the upper limb.
You will undertake formative practical examinations and have the opportunity to receive both peer and academic feedback. You will undertake a period of clinical practice within your own locality which will include weekly sessions with a mentor in order to facilitate the development of advanced clinical reasoning skills.
The assessment for the module is based on the integration of theory and practice in both the open book and objective structured practical examinations. The coursework assessment will further your critical appraisal skills.
