UK students can apply
We have partnered with the University of Bradford to create a unique, tailor-made programme that’s designed to unlock young people’s potential. It means they can work, earn and learn while studying towards a degree and preparing for a management career.
Learning and assessment
Methods of assessment are varied and linked to learning outcomes of the individual modules. They include examinations, essays, assignments, coursework, case studies, practical exercises, computer simulation, computer assisted assessment, reflective logs, group work and presentations.
The programme will enable apprentices to develop personal transferable skills including team work, communication, presentation, problem-solving, delegation and leadership which are essential within a company.
On all modules the apprentice will be expected to apply their learning back to the workplace and module assessments are designed to include this. A sponsoring Company will provide an in house mentor, whose role is to support the application of learning within the workplace.
Throughout the programme, the apprentice will keep an up to date professional development portfolio. Guidance on producing your portfolio will be given in the Personal and Professional Development module.
The Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship will typically take 4 years to complete, although the exact duration will be dependent on the previous experience of the individual.
During the programme apprentices will attend the University in 5 day blocks approximately every 6 weeks. On campus accommodation is available during these block weeks.
For the remainder of the time they will be in their company developing the skills required of a Chartered Manager.
Study support
The Effective Learning Service (ELS) is a dedicated facility within the Faculty of Management and Law, established to support our students to maximise their academic learning (eg assignments and examinations) as well as help overseas students adapt quickly to UK academic requirements.
The ELS provides a huge range of services, including various workshops run during term time, 1-1 consultations and vast printed and online resources to cater for every possible development area.
Research
Many staff are research active. Students will benefit from research-informed teaching, and have the opportunity to develop and use practical research skills and methodologies.
On graduation from this programme, apprentices will have learned to apply their new research-based knowledge and skills in their business environment.
