For schools and community groups
We offer entrepreneurship programmes to support communities within the Bradford district, which includes tailored sessions for local schools and a range of community groups.
Below are two examples of how our programmes have given participating groups an opportunity to explore how entrepreneurship could benefit them. Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss similar collaborations for your community.
Working with community groups - Palm Cove Society
Palm Cove Society, established in 2007, is dedicated to providing support and assistance to survivors of domestic violence, refugees, asylum seekers, and individuals affected by Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. Their mission is to help these resilient individuals recover and transition into the next phase of their lives with dignity and empowerment.
Palm Cove Society believe in the transformational power of listening, sharing, and learning from one another's stories.
We have had the privilege of engaging with 16 survivors, offering them a platform to share their experiences while equipping them with the necessary skills to pursue their dreams of becoming future entrepreneurs.
We are excited about more collaborations in the future, under our shared vision of "Working together to empower people and create safer communities."
Working with schools
Our entrepreneurship programme in schools enable young people to create and develop new business and social enterprises that benefit their school.
Working with IVE on an Enterprise Creativity Lab, the programme includes creativity training and encounters with employer experts over the eight-week idea development process, culminating in presentations at an Investment Pitch Event, run by the BREE team. The winning group is supported by BREE and IVE to establish and run the business or social enterprise in school.
Young people are supported through the programme to become effective, independent entrepreneurs, giving them new creativity skills and behaviours that:
- Help them understand how to manage a business or social enterprise
- Develop problem solving, critical thinking, speaking, listening and presentation skills
- Develop resilience, confidence, teamwork, leadership and the ability to innovate
