My favourite personal memories whilst I was studying at the University of Bradford include visiting the Shearbridge Pub, Shimla Restaurant, and Pickwicks Nightclub.
Career journey
"During my time at the University of Bradford, I spent almost every vacation working in the casualty department at Birmingham General Hospital. This gave me valuable knowledge of the human psyche.
"Once I graduated, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, so I decided to travel. I visited Australia and worked there, which gave me valuable insights into work experience. I then worked as a general manager for Pioneer Concrete and later progressed into direct sales.
"In 1994, I had the opportunity to move to Thailand, where I have been based for the last 30 years."
Biggest successes
"My biggest successes in my career included trebling sales for my company in 1985, being the top salesman in the UK in 1990, and being awarded an MBE in 2012 for "services to British business interests in Thailand."
My career advice would be to always listen to what people have to say, don't be afraid to make mistakes and never be afraid to ask a question.
What would you say to other members of the alumni community who are interested in reconnecting with the university?
"Reconnect! Catch up with old friends and make new ones. Pass on your knowledge and help today’s students become tomorrow’s successes."
