Brad-ATTAIN
Brad-ATTAIN (Bradford Pathways to Academia for Minoritized Ethnicities) is a £1.3m project based in the University of Bradford which brings together partners from across the region through positive action to enhance research engagement amongst Black, Asian, and ethnic (BAME) minoritised cohorts.
Brad-ATTAIN has something for all levels of students, from PhD, postgraduate and undergraduate, and even alumni.
Our Brad-ATTAIN initiative considers the diversity of Bradford and the future of academia in our changing world. We're committed to addressing systemic inequality experienced by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff and students.
The initiative offers:
- fully funded studentships,
- Post Graduate Research (PGR) placements,
- undergraduate, postgraduate and alumni internships
- travel bursaries.
The lack of BAME postgraduates means the research community does not benefit from diverse research perspectives. At the heart of Brad-ATTAIN is the drive to develop a sustainable, evidence based and community-embedded model of practice which addresses this gap and is transferable across the HE sector as a whole.

Seminar series
The seminar series is organised by Brad-ATTAIN in collaboration with The Yorkshire Consortium for Equity in Doctoral Education (YCEDE). This series aims to inform, raise awareness and help to create pathways to academia for minoritized ethnicities.
Research summer school
The Brad-ATTAIN Research Summer Schools aims to expand the awareness of doing a PhD to 3rd year undergraduates, master students and alumni from Black, Asian and other minoritized groups. The Summer School is aimed at participants from the West Yorkshire region.
