Our work in inclusion and diversity

At the Centre for Inclusion and Diversity (CfID) we are dedicated to embedding EDI into the very fabric of our institution. Through our advanced research, knowledge transfer activities, academic development, and policy and project work, we strive to create a culture where everyone feels valued and supported. Join us as we work together to build a more inclusive University community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Raising achievement for young people

This division works towards creative solutions to help address educational disadvantage, improve educational circumstances, and positively impact on the achievement of young people in Bradford.

This work is in response to the expectation of the Office for Students (OfS) that universities will enhance and expand their partnerships with schools and other local and national organisations.

Various project-based initiatives support the delivery of our work. These allow us to give a specific focus and attention to areas that we have identified as priorities, and for us to try new and innovative approaches to accelerate progress.

Decolonising UniBrad

Decolonising Bradford is a project that focuses on providing students and staff with the tools and language to identify the ways that universities are built on colonial hierarchies. It empowers people to confront, challenge and reject the status quo and encourages them to reimagine how things can be done.

'Can You Hear Me?'

This initiative provides an online safe space for minoritised voices to discuss challenging topics and contribute to our diversity ambitions.

Online listening circle events are for staff and students.  The purpose is to empower minoritised voices, providing a safe space for open conversations on topics which are often challenging but critical to achieving our diversity ambitions.

If you have any topics you would like to raise for discussion through 'Can You Hear Me?' events, then please email the CfID team.
